The 'Starbucks' Phenomena

After buying my dental materials from Carriedo, I skipped class. (No, don't tell my mom.) I walked near the terminal and saw an old high school buddy of mine. I loved talking to her about random things. And we hit one topic that seemed unimportant to others but somehow enlightened me. What a weight for a normal bus conversation eh?
What's with Starbucks Coffee that seemed to be so inclined with the elite society? Others would say "Sus pare-parehong kape lang naman yan!" "Pag inihi niyo yan, ihi pa din yan." and a whole lot of other phrases that from time to time seemed like a stereotype. Other people made this coffee shop as a status symbol, as if it was gold to them. They would often tell other people (who goes and orders a frappe, typically), that they're pasosyal or trying hard. Society nowadays.
I don't know why, but it's a simple and typical coffee shop among the humongous list of coffee shops in the world particularly, the Philippines. But let's face it, their caffeine-filled drinks are far more interesting and tasty rather than buying your good-ol-fashioned 3-in-1 instant coffee in the market. Actually, a lot of coffees from coffee shops are really good. You honestly get what you paid for. But for others here are some tips to actually enjoy the coffee and/or coffee shops like SB:

  1. Treat it as a normal coffee shop. Please. It's not a kingdom of caffeine where elites gather to giggle and bring out their ultra-cool gadgets just to check in with Foursquare or Facebook.
  2. You could take your picture, but refrain from acting as if your in a studio ready for a pictorial.
  3. Coffee shops are good places for dates (trust me) or chill hang out places where you and your friends could actually talk. Others use coffee shops as a place where they can review or something. Use this as an advantage.
  4. It's a COFFEE shop, not a WIFI shop. If you want to surf the net, google something, watch videos or porn whatsoever, do it somewhere else. Enjoy the coffee, not the internet connection.
  5. Just be yourself. If you think you're not for coffee shops or you feel too awkward to hang out in coffee shops (practically because of stereotypes and because of your own instinct), find other place where you can chill and relax. Besides, everybody is entitled to have their chillax-ing space.

I will sleep wherever I want

(What the actual fuck?)

This is practically injustice. So are they implying that from now on an individual couldn't take a sleep (and no, I'm not sleeping! I was just resting my eyes. I'm on my power saving mode.) while he or she is waiting for the professor to come? One couldn't exercise the ability to conserve energy without the perils of having a photo taken, and to add...an embarrassing one. This is my third sleeping photo actually. And you said being a student wasn't tiring.
PS. I'm going to kill whoever took this photo...well hypothetically.

My 'I' theory

As a happy go lucky type of guy, I have this theory (Theories that resemble the ones in How I Met Your Mother, you'll learn a lot of life lessons with that show. No kidd!) that states that Whatever happens in your life, you can't blame anything or anyone about it. It's your life. After all, life couldn't be life without and 'I'.

Every single thing that occurred in your life is the product of your own choices. You can't just simply blame everything to the world. Because the reality is, the world doesn't really care about ruining or building your life. The world will continue to revolve whether you go with it or against it. Every single detail of what's happening in its present tenses is because of you, and you alone. Be it because of your negligence or other's, think of it this way: It will always be your negligence. And no matter how hard you complain about the injustice of other's faults, remember that you could have done something else to turn the situation with you and not against you. Life is what you make it. It actually is. You just need your eye, to see every 'I' in your life. Maybe accepting and taking everything as your fault isn't as bad as what you think.

Redemption in the morning

(Morning selfies are the best! Kidding!)

So I finally redeemed my lost sleeping hours today. I woke up late, it wasn't much of a surprise because it's Sunday. It's my rest day from all the school shits I'm bearing for the rest of my weekdays. I also redeemed the fact that I don't have my phone with me anymore. It's all crazy and funny at the same time. Crazy enough, the usual first thing I'd search for in the morn is my phone. Funny because I just get up and pretend that my phone never had existed. My mom greeted me with "Hoy R.A. wag ka ng dadaan ng Balintawak ha? Magtiis ka na lang sa mas safe na daan. Mabuti pa atang mag dorm ka na lang eh!" I felt great because I wanted to try living in a dorm or apartment too. Fingers crossed. Good morning, to my non existent readers!

Photography Craps

As much as I missed blogging, I missed taking random photographs of random things too. You see, I once dreamed of being a photographer. These were all taken from my humble point and shoot camera. My family couldn't trust me with handling a more professional-ish camera. They don't really trust me to topple a great amount of responsibility over material things. I'm one hell of a careless man.

One thing I proved over the series of other photographs I've made: You don't really need an expensive or a high end type of camera just to capture that almost-perfect photo. All you need is the right angle, the creativity and imagination, the right technique and the passion and eye for photography. Trust me.

To my potential readers:

So I guess this is my first post again. Let me start this blog by saying that I have had one of the crappiest day of my life. I just got home, phone-less. Apparently some dude just took it from my hands while I was on my way home. But the weird thing is no matter how new that phone may be, I can't seem to feel any regret about it being stolen. It was more of a relief that nothing as bone-or-heart-or-any-vital-organ-breaking happened to me. As what my mom told me, "Just be thankful that your life isn't phone worthy to be lost. Trust me, something greater will come your way." I answered her with a wish that instead of a greater phone, a greater grade for my Physiology class would come my way. What a great story to start my blog! (No sarcasms intended.)

A better introduction would be this:
Hi! I'm Ronald Allan Soco, a white uniformed student--No I'm not taking a Nursing Program. I am a Dentist in the making, just so we're clear. I am a dancer and an artist and an aspiring everything. Seriously I can do a lot of stuff, I just don't know if I'm good at all of them. But hey, Blogging wasn't really a new thing for me. I started blogging way back in my high school days, but I quit because I felt that no one was actually reading my posts. (It was kinda true.) I switched to another blogging platform where I seem to make attention with a lot of people by posting some of my pictures and thoughts. It was cool and fun, not until it became an online dating-slash-out-of-fashion kind of blog, so I decided to quit. (Hi Tumblr!) But still, I am thankful to that blog because I found the love of my existence through it. It's a win-win situation. And now, here's another addition to my list of blogs that never seem to last. Here's another shot, here's another try on something I love to do; Sharing my thoughts and posting things that fascinate me.
